Welcome to the 2020-21 year in the Department of English
The Department of English is pleased to welcome a new permanent professor to the Department, Dr. Amatoritsero Ede. Dr. Ede is a specialist in African and African diaspora literature, and comes to us from the University of the Bahamas. His special interest is literature and politics, especially Afropolitanism. Dr. Ede is also a poet and creative writer, and publishes an online poetry journal. We are thrilled that he brings these skills and interests to Mount Allison!
Dr. Ede will be teaching four courses this year. In the Fall he will be teaching English 2991: Home and Exile, and English 3991: Literature as Virus. In the Winter he will be teaching English 1201D: Introduction to the Principles of Literary Analysis, and English 3771: Caribbean Literature. Faculty teaching this year includes Dr. Karen Bamford, Dr. Andrea Beverley, Dr. Amatoritsero Ede, Dr. Robert Lapp, and Dr. Janine Rogers. Dr. Sarah Fanning will be teaching one course in the Fall term and one course in the Winter term. Dr. Geordie Miller will be teaching three courses in the Fall term and two courses in the Winter 2020 term.
