Specific steps for new international students

1. Apply for a study permit

As a full-time international student, you must apply for a study permit before coming to Canada if your program of study is longer than six months in duration.

Most visiting international and exchange students who come to Mount Allison for one semester (less than six months) do not require a study permit.

Visit immigration information for full details on the steps to come to Canada to study.

2. Get to know our health insurance policy

All international students are required to have health insurance for the duration or their studies and will be automatically enrolled in the Mount Allison Students' Union's (MASU) health insurance plan.

3. Register for International Orientation

International Orientation (IO) gives international students the opportunity to get settled on campus before University Orientation begins. You will meet fellow peers from all over the world and learn what to expect while living and studying at Mount A. Don't miss out on this awesome opportunity!

International Orientation takes place at the beginning of the fall term only.
