The New Music Ensemble gives students the opportunity to collaborate, create, interact, listen, experiment, and improvise, as well as rehearse and perform contemporary works for small and large mixed chamber ensemble. Together we will explore cutting-edge repertoire: graphic scores, performance art, open instrumental scores, through-composed works, and new works improvised by the ensemble itself. Participants will develop and learn extended techniques particular to their own instruments, alongside invited guests from among the foremost contemporary musicians working today. The New Music Ensemble is directed by Prof. Nadia Francavilla.
