NOTE: New Music Ensemble is not offered in the 2022/2023 Academic Year
Course number: MUSC 1689
Credit: 1 credit, full year
New Music Ensemble gives students the opportunity to collaborate, create, interact, listen, experiment, and improvise, as well as rehearse and perform contemporary works for small and large mixed chamber ensemble. Works that have limited written materials but require a lot of listening and interaction amongst the performers, such as Terry Riley’s In C or the open score works of Canadian composer Jordan Nobles, will be featured alongside through-composed works and new works improvised by the ensemble.
