Location: MYB Conservatory Room 004 [Band Room]
Comprised of students from all departments of the university, as well as members of the local community, the chamber orchestra performs works both for full orchestra as well as for string orchestra. The ensemble is a great way for those with some experience or training to continue to grow musically and have fun. The MtA Chamber Orchestra is directed by Prof. Mark Kleyn.

Audition Requirements
Strings
Two contrasting movements of solo repertoire. Movements do not need to be from the same piece.
One 3-Octave Scale (preferable) or two octaves with shifting. Basses are only required to present a 2-octave scale.
Winds & Brass
One 2-octave scale
Two contrasting movements of solo repertoire. Movements do not need to be from the same piece.
Percussion
One Solo Piece.
First Rehearsal and Auditions
In-person auditions will be held at the end of the first rehearsal, Thursday, Sept. 8, 7:00 pm in the Band Room (004). Video auditions are also welcome and accepted. Files or links can be sent to mkleyn@mta.ca before the first rehearsal. Everyone interested in playing in Chamber Orchestra should come to the first rehearsal, with your instrument, whether or not you are auditioning by video or in-person. During this first meeting, we will rehearse, and we will cover important information relevant to the year.
