Black History Month 2026 at Mount Allison
Each year, the University marks Black History Month as a time to honour the rich histories, achievements, and contributions of Black communities, both on campus and across Canada.
Black History Month is an opportunity to come together as a community to learn about history, lived experience, and Black excellence — past and present — within our community and beyond.
This year’s celebrations will begin on campus with the raising of the Pan-African Flag beside the Owens Art Gallery on Friday, Jan. 30, at 12 p.m.
Through education, reflection, and shared learning, we share a collective responsibility to foster an inclusive and welcoming campus for all. There are a variety of events and learning opportunities available for students, with more planned throughout the month.
Faculty and staff can visit the Black History Month page on Gateway to see upcoming events planned specifically for faculty and staff: Black History Month 2026
Members of the Mount Allison community are encouraged to take part in the month’s events. For updates and additional details, visit the events page or follow these campus groups on Instagram:
