The Pierre Lassonde School of Fine Arts at Mount Allison University offers students a unique approach to professional fine arts training — combining studio work and instruction, with the freedom and flexibility of a liberal arts curriculum.
The Pierre Lassonde School of Fine Arts offers:
- small classes and a tight-knit learning environment
- faculty who are practicing artists and art historians
- courses that provide a strong foundation in all areas of the visual arts
The focus is on the research, creation, histories, and practices of the visual arts with a rigorous, student-centred curriculum that balances intellectual and applied approaches.

Mount Allison's Fine Arts facilities are incredible. I love having open access to so many studios and having technicians there to assist with any ambitious projects has helped me push myself out of my comfort zone and experiment with new mediums.
Fine Arts Facilities
The Pierre Lassonde School of Fine Arts is located in the Purdy Crawford Centre for the Arts. This 50,000-square-foot centre includes contemporary art studios with facilities for painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, and other media.
Mount Allison’s Owens Art Gallery is also an invaluable resource to students, as well as the Art Conservation Lab, offering important mentoring and internship opportunities for students.
