Biography

Paul has served as a Production Manager and Technical Director for the Drama Studies Program for over thirty-five years.  As part of this position, he has organized and supported shows of diverse eras and styles in a variety of spaces, including the original Windsor Theatre, the transitional “Windsor Theatre ‘Out of the Box’”, and our current Motyer-Fancy Theatre in the PCCA.

Paul is truly at home in the theatre in the midst of the action.  He enjoys guiding students through the practical and artistic processes of how to design and produce performances: stage management, lighting, sound, construction, front of house, marketing, and more. He has worked on over 400 shows both at Mount Allison University and elsewhere, and his students have gone on to work in a variety of production areas at some of the top companies in the Maritimes, across Canada, and internationally.

Paul’s professional credits in lighting/sound design and technical support include Neptune Theatre, DanceEast, Ship’s Company Theatre, and decades of work with the Sackville-based Live Bait Theatre.

Paul is a founding member of CITT/ICTS (Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology). Since its inception in 1990, CITT/ICTS continues to promote the professional development of theatre production staff and works for the betterment of the Canadian live performance community. He is currently serving as the President of the Institute (2022-2024).
