Mount Allison University Appoints Chief Strategy Officer to Lead Strategic Plan Implementation
Mount Allison University has appointed Courtney Pringle-Carver as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) for a five-year term, marking a significant step as the University prepares to move into the implementation phase of its Strategic Plan. While Pringle-Carver takes on the role of CSO, she will maintain her position as Vice President, University Advancement.
The newly established CSO role is a central component of Mount Allison’s efforts to translate strategic priorities into coordinated, institution-wide action. As Chief Strategy Officer, Pringle-Carver will lead the implementation of the Strategic Plan and chair the Strategic Plan Implementation Group, ensuring strong alignment, accountability, and measurable progress across the University.
“Courtney’s appointment as Chief Strategy Officer underscores Mount Allison’s commitment to turning our Strategic Plan into action,” says University President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ian Sutherland. “Her leadership will ensure that our priorities are implemented effectively, with measurable impact across the University, continuing to strengthen our position as an institution that excels not only nationally but globally.”
In her role, Pringle-Carver will work closely with academic and administrative leaders to advance initiatives that support Mount Allison’s academic priorities, enhance the student experience, and strengthen the University’s long-term sustainability.
Pringle-Carver currently serves as Vice President, University Advancement, and is a senior executive with nearly two decades of experience shaping strategy and institutional direction in complex public-interest institutions. Fluently bilingual, she has worked across public, private and post-secondary environments.
She holds an MPA from Dalhousie University, the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors (Rotman School of Management) and is completing an LLM at Osgoode Hall Law School focused on corporate governance and business law. A recipient of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 and a Canada 150 award for community service, her contributions to the success of organizations have been recognized nationally.
Mount Allison University’s Strategic Plan will officially launch on Monday, January 19. Additional details about the launch event and opportunities for community engagement will be shared in the coming days.
