14 Sep 2017

SACKVILLE, NB — Mount Allison University is pleased to announce Jeff Wright as the University’s next Executive Director of Development. Wright brings with him a successful track record in fund raising and development campaigns at post-secondary institutions for the past 16 years. He will begin his new role at Mount Allison on November 8.

“We are delighted to welcome Jeff to the University Advancement team at Mount Allison,” says Gloria Jollymore, Vice-President, University Advancement. “His demonstrated knowledge and experience in philanthropy will be a great asset to the development team as we head into our next major fund raising campaign for the University.”

Wright is a graduate of Acadia University. During his career, he has held increasingly senior roles at MacEwan University, the University of Alberta, St. Thomas University, and his current role at the University of Calgary.

“It is a privilege to join Mount Allison, and our family is thrilled to return to New Brunswick,” notes Wright. “The academic and student experiences offered at Mount Allison are truly exceptional, and have been generously supported by philanthropy since the founding of the institution. I look forward to working with faculty, staff, alumni and donors to sustain and generate continuing support for generations of Mount Allison students.”

Since its establishment over 175 years ago, Mount Allison University’s many important initiatives, from campus infrastructure, student scholarships, and support for new and existing programs have been supported by donations from alumni and friends of the University.

In its most recent campaign—JUMP Mount Allison—the University raised more than $96-million in eight years, two years ahead of target and $10-million above its goal. These funds went to support numerous projects on campus, including the establishment of the Wallace McCain Student Centre (2008), the Purdy Crawford Centre for the Arts (2014), as well as numerous student scholarships, supports, and internship opportunities.
