Mount Allison University and Dalhousie University have signed a new agreement that will create a more direct pathway for Mount Allison students pursuing an engineering degree.

Through the five-year articulation agreement, students who successfully complete an approved first year of full-time study at Mount Allison may apply to Dalhousie’s Bachelor of Engineering program with advanced standing. The pathway recognizes a group of Mount Allison courses in chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, and the humanities as equivalent to first-year engineering requirements at Dalhousie.

“This agreement gives students the opportunity to begin their university experience at Mount Allison while building a strong academic foundation for continued study in engineering,” says Dr. Richard Isnor, Provost and Vice-President, Academic and Research at Mount Allison University. “It reflects our commitment to creating flexible, student-centred pathways and working with our post-secondary partners to expand opportunities for students.”

Following admission, Dalhousie will oversee the process of placing students in an engineering discipline. Up to 10 students may enter the program through the pathway in its first year, with both universities reviewing capacity annually.
