Position description


The Physics Department at Mount Allison University invites applications toward the teaching of three individual courses by stipendiary (part-time) appointment:

PHYS 1051: General Physics I (Fall 2026 term); anticipated enrollment of 80 students
PHYS 2811: Modern Physics (Winter 2027 term); anticipated enrollment of 24 students
PHYS 3451: Methods of Mathematical Physics (Winter 2027 term); anticipated enrollment of 24 students

All three of these courses include both lecture and lab components, have approximately six contact hours per week, and will be delivered in-person.
The successful applicant for each course stipend will hold a Ph.D. in Physics or a related area. Preference will be given to a candidate having demonstrated experience in teaching Physics at a primarily undergraduate university.
