Virtual Alumni Gathering In-A-Box

Virtual Gathering In-A-Box is an opportunity for you to plan a virtual gathering on Zoom with other Mount Allison alumni! Your gathering could be to connect with:

  • Other alumni near you
  • Classmates
  • Affinity groups (any alumni group having a common interest or affiliation) such as degree, major, geographic region, athletic or student club involvement, etc.

What the Alumni Engagement Office can offer

  • A staff liaison who will be the point person between you and the Alumni Engagement team. This individual will work with you from start to finish, providing input regarding scheduling the event, type of event, logistics, and more.

  • A communication platform: our office will handle the invitations, including email communications and social media promotions.

  • Share our alumni contact list with you to help you spread the word and connect with other alumni.

  • Event registration support: We will handle the registration and will keep you informed on registrants.

  • A virtual platform: We will host your event on our Zoom subscription which has no time restrictions. Your event will also have access to Zoom breakout rooms, polls, and chat.

  • Swag: We may be able to offer MtA themed items for prizes, contests, etc., determined on a case-by-case basis.

What we ask of you

  • Start planning your gathering at least 6 weeks in advance.

  • Sign a confidentiality agreement.

  • Pick a date and time for the gathering.

  • Work with/communicate to the staff liaison to come up with an event plan that covers any activities, discussion prompts, and/or trivia questions required for your gathering.

  • Host and facilitate your event on Zoom.
