Biography

Kendall Witaszek (she/her/hers) is a postdoctoral fellow in Feminist and Gender Studies at Mount Allison University. She completed her PhD in Gender Studies at Queen’s University in May 2025, with her dissertation examining the dynamism of storytelling and science in the construction of the Japanese war bride through a lens of race, gender, and empire. She studies relational theories of race, U.S. empire and diaspora, gendered migration and social reproduction, cultural production, and interdisciplinary methodologies. Her research has been published in American Quarterly, Interviewing the Caribbean, and Handbook of Feminist Political Geography. This year, she is excited to teach Introduction to Feminist and Gender Studies, Gendered Bodies, Asian Diasporic Feminist Cultural Productions, and Feminist Praxis Studies at Mount Allison!
