Dr. Vicki St. Pierre appointed Provost and Vice-President Academic at Capilano University
Mount Allison University's Dean of Arts Dr. Vicki St. Pierre has been appointed Provost and Vice-President, Academic at Capilano University in North Vancouver, BC.
St. Pierre joined Mount Allison in 2015 as a professor in the Department of Music and has since served in a number of leadership positions, including Acting Director of Drama, Interim Dean of Arts, and Dean of Arts since July 2021. St. Pierre also served for one year as Interim Provost and VP Academic and Research.
During her time as Dean, St. Piere helped advance the Faculty of Arts' academic priorities, supported innovative programming and interdisciplinary collaboration, and championed student success, faculty development, and collegial governance.
Members of the Mount Allison community have come to know her in many roles — as a professor, performer, academic leader, and colleague. A seasoned concert and opera singer, St. Pierre has sung on stages and with performers and ensembles around the globe, including Ensemble Masques de Montreal, the Cleveland Opera, Portland Baroque Orchestra, and Early Music Vancouver.
She has contributed to countless University ceremonies and celebrations through her musical performances, including renditions of the Alma Mater Song.
St. Pierre will conclude her appointment at Mount Allison on July 31. Dr. Andrea Beverly will continue to serve as Acting Dean of Arts following St. Pierre's departure. Information regarding plans for the search for the University's next Dean of Arts will be shared at a later date.
