Dr. Robert Campbell named to the Bank of Canada Board of Directors
Outgoing Mount Allison University President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Robert Campbell, CM has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Bank of Canada, as announced June 28, 2018.
The Bank of Canada is a Crown corporation and Canada’s central bank. It is responsible for Canada’s monetary policy and bank notes and also has responsibilities relating to the financial system and funds management.
“We were delighted to hear of Dr. Campbell’s latest appointment to the Bank of Canada’s Board of Directors,” says Ron Outerbridge, Chair of Mount Allison University’s Board of Regents. “As a political economist, long-time University administrator, and board member of several professional organizations, Dr. Campbell’s experience and expertise will be beneficial to this important Crown corporation. I wish to congratulate him on behalf of the entire Mount Allison University community.”
Dr. Campbell’s tenure as Mount Allison President and Vice-Chancellor began in 2006, and ends June 30, 2018.
Bank of Canada appointments are for terms of various lengths of up to three years. Candidates are selected for their ability to best serve the interests of Canadians, through open, transparent and merit-based selection processes for all Governor-in-Council appointments.
