Many retirees and former employees of Mount Allison University wish to remain connected to the community and stay informed about University news and events.


The purpose of this policy is to establish a mechanism and guidelines for the distribution of bulk e-mail to retirees and former employees.


Upon their retirement, or at any time thereafter, Mount Allison retirees and former employees will be given the opportunity to subscribe to a mailing list for retirees. Subscribers will be able to unsubscribe from the list at any time and will be able to use any e-mail address to sign up. Human Resources will review and approve requests to subscribe to the mailing list.

The list will be used to send retirees and former employees e-mail about public events, activities, lectures, notable honours achieved by members of the Mount Allison community, notices of the deaths of members of the Mount Allison community, and other news and information as relevant.

The Marketing and Communications Office will have access to send e-mail to this list, and will approve access for other departments that have a demonstrated need for ongoing access to the list.
