Position description

 The Visual & Material Culture Studies Program welcomes applications to teach VMCS 2991 – Landscape Archaeology Methods (3 credit hours, 6 contact hours/week) on campus in Summer 2026 (May to August) to up to 20 students. The VMCS Program at Mount Allison University champions experiential learning in the context of fomenting global citizens with real-world experience and applications for their studies. This course contributes to the university’s broadening offerings in Archaeology and Material Culture Studies. Students will learn foundational theories and approaches to Landscape Archaeology while applying this knowledge and developing their skills at local field sites. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Archeology or a related field, have prior university teaching experience, be knowledgeable of archaeological opportunities near the university, and have experience building community partnerships.  

This is a stipendiary appointment pending budgetary approval.
