Position description

The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures at Mount Allison University invites applications for Linguistics stipendiary (part-time) appointments to teach the following courses during the 2024-2025 academic year. Candidates may apply to one or both courses.

Linguistics 2001 – Introduction to the Study of Language (Fall 2024) – online or in person
Linguistics 3011 – Language and Society (Winter 2025) – online or in person

Successful applicants will have an M.A. or PhD in Linguistics, or equivalent degree. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. Preference will be given to applicants with prior teaching experience at the university level. The courses involve approximately three hours of class time per week. The anticipated class size for Linguistics 2001 is 40-50 students and the approximate class size for Linguistics 3011 is 25-30 students.
