Position description

The Health Studies Program at Mount Allison University invites applications for a part-time stipendiary appointment for the Fall 2024 term, to teach a three-credit course: HLTH 3001, Health Communications.

This course provides an overview of theories of health communication, health literacy, public health campaigns, risk communication, and the role of traditional and social media. It will also consider the importance of cultural literacy in adapting health communication to different contexts.
The anticipated enrollment in the course is approximately 25 students and may be taught as an in-person class on the Sackville campus or offered synchronously online.

Qualifications:

*A completed (or in-progress) PhD in Health Studies/health-related field, Communications, English, Sociology, or related fields. Doctoral students are welcome to apply.

*Prior teaching experience is preferred
