Position description

The Ron Joyce Centre for Business Studies/Commerce Department at Mount Allison University invites applications for a part-time stipendiary appointment in Sackville to teach a course entitled COMM2201 - Fundamentals of Marketing. This course stresses the meaning of products and services to the consumer recognizing that a consumer orientation is essential for effective decision making. Core topics include the marketing mix, differentiation, and segmentation. Students have the opportunity to develop fundamental skills in analysis, report writing, and presentation skills. The course is scheduled with 2 sections on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:30 to 4:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm in the Fall academic term 2026. The class size is approximately 60 students per section.

The course is scheduled in person on the Sackville campus.

Qualifications/Skills:

Candidates should have experience teaching Marketing courses at the undergraduate university level, demonstrate a strong commitment to high quality undergraduate teaching and engagement, and have a graduate degree with a specialization in Marketing.

  • Proposed Course Syllabus for Comm 2201 Fundamentals of Marketing, which includes course format, course readings and/or textbook, topics, type of assignments, and assessment. 
  • In addition to the proposed syllabus for Comm 2201, a Course Syllabus for another marketing course already taught by the applicant may be included (not required).
  • Curriculum Vitae.
  • A teaching dossier (e.g., teaching philosophy and evidence of teaching ability). 
  • Names and contact information of three individuals who will submit reference letters.
