Position description

The Ron Joyce Centre for Business Studies/Commerce Department at Mount Allison University invites applications for two part-time stipendiary appointments in Sackville to teach COMM 1411A and COMM 1411B – Quantitative Analysis for Business Decision Making.  This course introduces quantitative tools used in business decision making and the conventions and terminologies used in the application of these tools. Topics include discounting, markups and markdowns, breakeven analysis, interest calculations, and the mathematics of finance. The course is scheduled with two sections on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 to 10:00 am and 10:00 am to 11:30 am in the Winter academic term 2027. The class size is approximately 75 students per section. 

Although the course is scheduled in person on the Sackville campus, the possibility of delivering the course in a hybrid format (in-person and online) or synchronously online (fully online on the days/times) may be considered. 

Qualifications/Skills: 

Candidates must have experience teaching quantitative courses at the undergraduate university level, demonstrate a strong commitment to high quality undergraduate teaching and engagement, and a graduate degree in Management Sciences/Finance.
