Position description

The Ron Joyce Centre for Business Studies/Commerce Department at Mount Allison University invites applications for a part-time stipendiary appointment in Sackville to teach 1 section of a course entitled COMM3361A – Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation, subject to budgetary approval. This course examines the process of business venture creation and start-up and of the role of the entrepreneur in this process. Topics include business opportunity assessment, the structure and function of the business plan, new venture financing, and the legal and regulatory aspects of start-up. The course is scheduled with 1 section on Wednesdays from 15:30 pm for 3 hours in the winter academic term of 2026. The class size is approximately 30 students per section.

Although the course is scheduled in person on the Sackville campus, the possibility of delivering the course in a hybrid format (in-person and online) or synchronously online (fully online on the days/times) may be considered.

Candidates must have a PhD or master’s degree in entrepreneurship or a related area, experience teaching entrepreneurship courses at the undergraduate university level, and demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality undergraduate teaching and engagement. Entrepreneurial experience would be an asset.
