1 — PURPOSE

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the University makes maximum use of available scholarship funds without overspending those funds.

2 — POLICY

2.1 Vice-President (Finance and Administration)

It is the responsibility of the Vice-President (Finance and Administration) to authorize the total amount of scholarships that can be offered to students each year.

2.2 Vice-President (International and Student Affairs)

It is the responsibility of the Vice-President (International and Student Affairs):

i) to ensure that the total amount of scholarships offered each year does not exceed the amount authorized,

ii) to report to the Controller on a monthly basis the total amount of offers that have been made,

iii) to determine who should be offered scholarships, and

iv) to determine the amount of the scholarship that should be offered to an applicant or student
