University begins search for new president

Thank you, Dr. Jean-Paul Boudreau

President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jean-Paul Boudreau joined Mount Allison on July 1, 2018 and completed his five-year term on June 30, 2023. A proud Acadian originally from Moncton, NB, Jean Paul joined MtA from Ryerson (now known as Toronto Metropolitan University). His commitment to innovation was a driving force over the past five years, a period marked by the introduction of new academic programs, increased student support, and significant upgrades to campus infrastructure. He will also be remembered for his effective and thoughtful leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic. We thank Jean-Paul for being a champion for MtA and wish him well as he begins the next phase of his career.

Presidential search underway

The Board of Regents has engaged the services of an executive search firm to help guide the process of recruiting Mount Allison’s next President and Vice-Chancellor. Vice-Chair Cheryl Hodder has been appointed Chair of the internal search committee, which includes representation from the Board, faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Consultation with the key stakeholder groups noted above will be an integral part of the search process.

The presidential search will be a major area of focus for the Board in the coming months. Updates will be shared with the Mount Allison community as the process develops.
