11-1. Invariance under Tn and TnI. |
The number of pcs held invariant when a set is transposed by n
semintones (Tn) is equal to the number of times n's
interval class appears in the set's ic vector--except for ic 6, when the
number of invariant pcs is 2n.
- Using the ic vectors in the table
of pc set classes, tell how many pcs would remain invariant in the
following sets if they were transposed by the stated amounts.
