DMF Developed Software: DOINK!

DOINK! is somewhat microscopy-related, as it was written for several projects involving DMF expertise. This Visual Basic/Excel macro plugin generates uncorrected pair-wise distance (p) matrices for DNA sequences. DOINK! produces a nucleotide difference matrix identical to that produced by BioEdit (and additional information) but within an Excel spreadsheet.

Aligned and trimmed sequences are copied to the "Sequences" Worksheet. Clicking Doink!|Run in the menu bar generates the data on the other three worksheets.

The "Populations" worksheet displays counts of all characters contained within each sequence.

The "BPMatrix" worksheet gives total base pair differences between each sequence.

The "PctMatrix" worksheet expresses total base pair differences as a percentage of sequence length
