Position description
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Mount Allison University invites applications to teach one or both of Applied Calculus (MATH 1151) and Finite Mathematics (MATH 1251) in the Winter 2024 term. This is a stipendiary (part-time) appointment to be offered at Mount Allison in Sackville, subject to budgetary approval. The successful applicant should have experience teaching undergraduate mathematics and a M.Sc. in Mathematics or a related area, with a Ph.D. preferred.
Classes begin January 8th and conclude April 8th (with the exam period following). These classes will meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: Finite 8:30-9:20am, and Applied Calculus 12:30-1:20pm. The instructor is expected to be available to meet with students at least 2 additional hours each week. Anticipated enrolment is between 50 and 70 students (per course).
