A former Senate page for the Maine State Legislature, Andrew Moreira says he decided on Mount Allison because of its vibrant campus life and welcoming environment.

"Mount Allison’s reputation as a strong liberal arts university was also one of the reasons I chose to study here," he says.

Moreria, who is from Stillwater, Maine is a recipient of a Bell Scholarship, one of the top entrance scholarships at Mount Allison. He is studying chemistry and international relations.

Two-time president of his high school student council, a three-sport athlete, and former President of National Honor Society for Old Town High School, Moreria organized a charity golf tournament at a local golf course in Maine in his senior year. He also worked in labs throughout high school, keeping in touch with former teachers.

At Mount Allison, Moreria is a councilor with Mount Allison’s Students Union (MASU), and is also involved in the University’s Model UN and Let’s Talk Science program.
