Mount Allison offers undergraduate certificates that can be taken as part of your degree program.
Undergraduate certificates highlight knowledge or competencies in a particular area.
Each is built around a theme and requires you to complete 12-18 credits in specific disciplines.
Certificates must be taken at the same time as your Mount Allison degree and must be combined with a major/degree program.
Free-standing certificates are not available at this time.
Not sure about the difference between major, minor, and honours?
Certificates are open to all Mount Allison students in any program.
Arts Administration
New! The Certificate in Arts Administration provides students with an interdisciplinary foundation in arts management and marketing in combination with courses in the visual and performing arts.

Mi'kmaq Studies
New! The Certificate in Mi’kmaq Studies offers an introduction to Indigenous Studies and Indigenous research while focusing on Mi’kmaw language, culture, and land.
Given Mount Allison’s location in the unceded and ancestral territory of Mi’kma’ki, students from any program may want to deepen their knowledge of local Indigenous cultures through the Certificate in Mi’kmaq Studies.
The Certificate offers an experiential learning option, and many courses will include land-based learning, visits from Elders and Knowledge Keepers, and other kinds of interactive learning experiences.

New! The Certificate in Music Education will build upon and strengthen our existing offerings (BMus/BA Music) in several important ways:
- articulate a clear pathway to an education degree and career
- give students a credential that demonstrates their specialization in music education
